Well, considering there's a good chance I'll soon end up with a scar like this:

I may as well make it pretty.
Add to that the fact that this surgery would happen at the start of the third trimester of pregnancy and I will get BIG...and then eventually shrivel back down to skinny ol' me. Ugh...

LOL! I thought about getting a tattoo on the scar going up my ankle. Something vine-like. But alas, it would be very visible and maybe not so appropriate at my age nor fit my personality. Besides, scar tissue is pretty tender and I don't think I'd like the process very much.
Oh Erin... You know me. A beautiful tattoo after your scar is well healed would be so beautiful! As far as you finding courage to actually have the process done after such a ride in surgery will hopefully feel like a conquest at the end of this journey.
Patti says DO IT! But, of course, you know me; radical, crazy, would tell your Mom to forget "inappropriateness" and on and on.
At 80 you will love it whatever it looks like... along with all your women friends that will be checking theirs out too. You can all have a tattoo party at age 80! It will be groovy and beautiful~
HA! Erin and I can go down together and get one! Wouldn't that be a crock?
Erin, I'm afraid scar tissue does not take tattoos well...my friend who tattoos has mentioned it several times. You could however tattoo something around it that helps disguise it, or accentuate it!!! Scars are not ugly. They add character. They tell your story. But that said, I've been strongly considering a new tattoo, so I'll go with you if you want to get one.
