I haven't felt too chatty lately but I have done a lot of knitting and spinning. Here's what I've been up to:
The Eesti Trail Hiking Socks I started waaaay back for my husband are DONE! He loves them. I need to make more.
The alpaca "yarn that refused to be a sweater" (I'm not going there) turned out wonderful as as a large scarf/shawl called Clapotis. I need to make more.
And then, of course, Vera...what has become of her? She ended up spinning into a worsted weight 3-ply yarn and became a cropped cardigan and a baby hat (using the leftovers). And no, the pink hat is not for my baby boy-to-be...it's for a friend having twins. I need to make more, dangit! The hat only takes 3 weekdays to make if I don't put it down and forget about it.

And then the Gyp--I mean Gothic Rose superwash I bought at Stitches West. Well, this didn't become the Bella Paquita like I intended. I took a look at that pattern and didn't feel like working out the HUGE chart provided in lieu of written instructions. So this will instead be the Sand Dollar Pullover by Norah Gaughan. I'm readjusting the gauge to make it more fitted (my only mod so far). I only have the back piece done so here's just a sneak peak at the colorway:
And then Vera's sister, Tahoe and her friend Garnet. No, I don't talk to my wool rovings. The little bits of wool I spun over Christmas (remember Grandma's mittens?) are, well, one mitten now and Spring is here. So much for finishing these during the cold season. Although, with a visit from Grandma came reassurance that the mittens will indeed fit. It's just no longer a surprise. I can move on now and get these done...any time now.

The "Clapotis" Shawl is to die for! Nice work.
Oh my gosh, look at you! My oldest daughter and I took a knitting class and we can manage anything that is a square or a rectangle and does not include anything other than the knit stitch. I don't even know if we qualify to call ourselves knitters. But it is relaxing.
Once you figure out the knit, purl, increase and decrease stitches, you can make anything. It just takes practice. I'm pretty persistent when I want to learn something, though. It's probably from all the years of skating and constant trial & error...every day. Things don't get old too quickly with me.
